Jacksonville Aviation Authority Awards Foresight Aircraft Hangar Project

Foresight Construction Group, Inc., was recently awarded a construction contract by the Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) to relocate  an aircraft hangar located on the airfield at Cecil Airport in Jacksonville, Florida.

Foresight’s contract will consist of the complete relocation of the existing 18,000-sf aircraft hangar and the construction of a new, larger hangar in its place.

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority is an independent government agency created by the Florida legislature. The mission of JAA is to manage, operate, maintain and develop an airport system that exceeds the aviation need of the City of Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. JAA owns the runways, hangars, passenger terminal building, airport grounds and road connections to the public highway system. In addition, JAA provides and maintains the terminals and their equipment and manages the overall use of the facilities.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to work with JAA on this project,” said Stan Byers,  Foresight’s Vice President overseeing the Jacksonville market.  “This project represents another in a growing list of aviation-related projects that our team has completed for a number of government and transportation clients.  We are looking forward to putting our team’s expertise to work on behalf of JAA and developing a long-term relationship with them.”

The hangar project is set to mobilize Spring 2018.
