Repairs to Building 101S Oxygen Shop for U.S. Navy/Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast
This project involved the repairs and alterations to the existing 4,350-sf Oxygen Shop located within existing building 101S Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE), NAS Jacksonville, FL. The FRCSE has the largest depot-level oxygen shop in the Navy that processes aircrew oxygen bottles for P-3 and F/A -18 aircraft. Building 101S is a hangar, and the Oxygen Shop occupies a lean-to area on the northeast side of the hangar space. The shop upgrades correct current deficiencies in order to improve work processes and quality.
The shop had to remain fully functional during construction, so construction activities were divided into six different work areas, or phases. Work included enclosure of the lean-to area, construction of new modular cleanroom inside shop, and replacement of ceiling systems and doors. Ventilation, humidity control and air conditioning upgrades occurred in many areas of the shop along with electrical, mechanical, fire protection, piping and plumbing improvements.
