This project consisted of the renovation of an existing 3,189 SF lab space for UF’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS). Our scope of work included the construction of new offices and student workroom within the lab and upgrade of mechanical and electrical systems. The project also included life safety, architectural, structural, mechanical, controls, plumbing, fire protection and electrical scopes of work.
This project was awarded under the UF-MP14 Annual Minor Projects Professional Continuing Services contract that Foresight currently holds with the University. Typical projects assigned include new construction, renovations, remodeling, reroofing and other building maintenance, equipment installation, pre-engineered metal buildings, greenhouses, pole barns, asbestos abatement, and fire code corrections. The maximum per-project budget is $2,000,000 and all projects are delivered using the construction management delivery method.
This project began at 60% Construction Document stage. Foresight’s pre-construction activities included value engineering, analysis of design documents, coordination, development and maintenance of the construction schedule, production of jobsite management plans, development of procurement strategies, and development of a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposal.
