Awarded by the Sistema Universitario Ana G. Mendez, Tampa Bay Campus

Ms. Maritza V. Rovira-Forino, Minority Business Manager for Foresight Construction Group, was honored to receive the Presidential Medal from the Sistema Universitario Ana G. Mendez, Tampa Bay Campus. The award was conferred to Ms. Rovira-Forino during the university’s graduation ceremony in Tampa, Fla. on June 24, in recognition of her dedication and contribution to the Hispanic community, especially in the area of education. After receiving the medal from Dr. Jose F. Mendez, President, and Dr. Luis A Burgos, Chancellor, Ms. Rovira-Forino gave the commencement address to the graduates.

This was the third graduating class from the university, the only bilingual university program in the United States. 70 students representing 10 different Latin American nationalities received academic degrees at the ceremony. The ceremony profiled the dedication, sacrifices and tenacity of various students who overcame great obstacles in order to pursue their dream of pursuing a higher education.

The President of Sistema Universitario Ana G. Mendez annually awards the Presidential Medal during the commencement ceremony. With this distinction, SUAGM recognizes individuals or organizations that have distinguished themselves for outstanding personal qualities, their professional careers and for their extraordinary contributions to the growth of SUAGM as well as to the communities it serves.
