PK Yonge Building 513 Meade Library Renovations

Established in 1934, P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School is a K-12 public school district affiliated with and located on the campus of the University of Florida.

Foresight Construction Group was tasked with updating P.K. Yonge’s library/media center to implement new architectural and design elements, including lighting upgrades, architectural accent wall, flooring and acoustical ceiling improvements. The total area of the renovations was 4,070 square feet.

All existing light fixtures were replaced with new semi-recessed architectural fixtures, and a new Billo wave ceiling system was installed above the main reception desk as a feature point for the room. An accent wall with sculpted paneling was installed to reinforce the school’s mascot, the Blue Wave. The existing flooring was updated with accent floor tiles in keeping with the room’s new color palette. Other scopes included casework and miscellaneous electrical, HVAC and plumbing modifications along with new paint throughout the space.

Foresight met the school’s critical end dates for completion prior to the start of the new school year.
