This project included the major mechanical and electrical renovation of two K-12 schools, Lowry Elementary School and Walker Middle School, in the Hillsborough County school district. The project was fast tracked, and both air side and water side economizers were replaced at both schools.
The scope of work at Walker Middle School included installing two water cooled chillers at 250 tons each, one cooling tower (500 tons), ten chilled water dual path air handling units with electric reheat, two chilled water pumps, one domestic heating hot water storage tank, two inline domestic water pumps, one expansion tank, one Spirovent dirt air separator, one chemical feeder, 114 variable volume boxes with electric reheat coils, roof-mounted exhaust fans, a kitchen hood exhaust fan, a dehumidifier and all associated piping and ductwork. The electrical scope of work included the replacement of HVAC equipment at all existing facilities including a cooling tower, two chillers, ten air handling units and 114 VAV locations.
The scope of work at Lowry Elementary School included two air cooled chillers at 150 tons each, ten chilled water dual path air handling units, six chilled water fan coil units in teacher planning rooms, two chilled water pumps, one expansion tank, one air separator, one chemical feeder, 71 variable volume boxes with electric heat, a kitchen supply fan and hood exhaust fan and all associated piping and ductwork. The electrical scope of work at included the replacement of HVAC equipment including two chillers, ten air handling units and 71 VAV locations.
