This project consisted of the renovation of an existing 3,189 SF lab space for UF’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS). Our scope of work included the construction of a new collaborative design suite for the IFAS Global Food Systems Program including a new, high efficiency lab with fume hoods and associated controls; new offices and student workrooms within the lab; and upgrades to the mechanical and electrical systems. The project also included life safety, architectural, structural, mechanical, controls, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and ADA compliance efforts.
This project began at 60% Construction Document stage. Foresight’s preconstruction activities included value engineering, analysis of design documents, coordination, development and maintenance of the construction schedule, production of jobsite management plans, development of procurement strategies, and development of a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposal.
